Balboa Heaters With Pressure Switch

These types of heaters are very common in older hot tubs and spas and have been used by many spa manufacturers over the years.  The method of using pressure switches to prevent the heater from being dry-fired has now been replaced with the new M7 sensor technology.

The pressure switch itself has a diaphragm inside which picks up back pressure in the heater tube, as the pressure increases the diaphragm moves up and closes the switch. When this switch is turned on it indicates to the control pack that there is enough water flowing the heater tube and it is safe to send power to the heating element. Find below all the heaters manufactured by Balboa with pressure switch, Balboa part numbers will be written on the heater tube, and to match the correct replacement you need to use the first 5 numbers like 51406, etc.
